[ How to ] find a new hairdresser.,

how to..

On the off chance that your hairdresser makes an off beat decision to change course I thought it would be helpful to unlatch the inside info on how best to find a new appropriate hairdresser. I would just like to start by saying… do not compare them to your old hairdresser. Each stylist has their favourite flavour. Trying to ask for what was, will only decrease your happiness levels. Instead walk into the consultation with curiosity as to how they will read your hair and lifestyle needs. Draw out of them the vision they see when they observe your head of locks.

Sharing pictures is probably a must but understand they are mostly photoshopped. You will need more than just a trim up to achieve the -10 years you maybe looking for.  What you should listen for is words like….

  • Your face shape would suit…

  • Your skin tone compliments this colour…

  • What is your lifestyle like, how much time do you spend on your hair…

  • What hair products are you using..

  • What’s the over all feel you are going for today..

After the skin test & chat know you can still give it a miss.. try another one. It's like trying on a jumper.. you don’t have to settle to buying the first one that’s fits. The test should warm your skin in the knowing vibes of ‘this feels good’.

Like most things in todays world.. Don’t go to cheap. Cheap colours are the worst at lasting. They may be ok for a week or two before they fade, leaving you a warm shade super drug fake tan. The colours I used are called ‘Kevin Murphy’. Have a little google as to what salon use them too. This will keep it same same, but it's not over all important as long as the brand they use is a good one.  There are too many to list so drop me a dm if you want to know if its ok or not.

The finer details are this… creating the perfect colour takes trust and willingness from you to allow the hair-artist freedom to unleash the full potential of your personality. From their side again…… make sure that they take the mission in both hands with their full attention on you. Their knowledge (not always experience) should guide the way, not so much the pictures your brought to the table.

If they have a coffee machine that is bean to cup, I don’t see how you could go wrong just book in.,

My parting words - don’t turn grey till you are at least 60.,

Share a smile & see you soon.,
