Away for a trip every year, normally to hot sunny lands. This year it crossed our minds to enjoy the places just down from the door step. The planning was kept to a minimum  knowing it was Christmas two hotels had to be booked just to be on the safe side. The rest of the weeks (clocking three in total) were left to the open road signs.

Yes we drove. Janet (the jeep avenger kitted with sexy snow tyres) and the fam packed up (way to much but it was due to be cold). Driving just after sunrise to the tunnel we jumped the waters to France.. We hopped to different dwellings every few nights. Hotels to keep rested, booking them the morning of to keep as much flow as possible. With each day bringing a new walking sight seeing feast.

Life should be nothing short of the best times even when you have no idea what that entails. I had planned (in my mind) for a coffee trip but alas it turned into an adventure with a min walk of 20min to reach any coffee shop at all. Moving away from the coffee was then a must to expand our understanding of the most stunning hand painted cathedrals always seeming to be coupled next to the bright wooden Christmas stalls. Some even with live animals to complete the nativity scene. Stepping into others view points of the world is why we venture outside the farm. The air feels different, the people quietly sharing the side walks teaching us new methods to life we didn’t even think to look for at home.

Drinking in the shades from each new city, we made our way though France, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Belgium.. clocking a satisfying 2000 miles always dialled in noting the woodlands, sky rises and snow covered roads (once)  I’ll just add here the best places we uncovered..

  • Red bull hanger 7 museum, Salzburg. (The food there was amazing, you will need to book.. ovs we didn’t so we sat at the bar while we ate.)

  • BMW Museum, Munich (A fun little walk around for the kids, They are way more into cars than me, but I did find a few that I would have taken home.)

  • Ulm, Germany (this place had the cutest coffee shop, following them on insta still - Fred @kaffee_fred, also found the best steakhouse called Abacco’s.)

  • Hotel Nerudova 211 (my fav place!), Prague. ( This is where we spent four nights over Christmas, this place oh boy.. has a spot in my forever remember zone. I can’t even put it into words what they have designed here. The place & people are pure magic.. with every detail cared for.)

  • Morgentau Penthouse, Passau (A house design I fell into, wanting to pick it up and bring it home to live in.)

Whenever you shift as you move though the streets never travelled before its inevitable that unfolding of growth.. but doing it with my favourite people of all time makes it the sweetest moments you never let go of. Long car rides, coffee in hand and conversations you didn’t know you needed.

There was more for sure but you need to always explore for yourself too, I hope you take a trip to fill your eyes with unfiltered knowledge of the places you dream of.

Share a smile & see you soon.,
